Our Story

Barrie is one of Canada`s most dynamic regions, located in Ontario`s heartland and a short drive to the Greater Toronto Area. Barrie and its surrounding areas share a tremendous amount of cultural diversity in the region. Restaurants offering cuisines of the world to gatherings, festivals, and community programs are further marching ahead in cultural diversity, which is seen in the schools, restaurants, and retail outlets, thus adding value to the society.

As a child, Chef Ketan Patel was always selective about his meals packed in lunch boxes during school days to catering to friends at his birthday parties. Growing up and working in community kitchens and serving people during disaster relief works, Chef Ketan ensured to aid and learned the importance of wholesome and hygienic food to the needy. His love for quality and authentic food advanced him to opt for a career as a Chef. He studied Culinary, trained, and worked in Switzerland, England, and Canada, devoting rigorous hours behind the range to fine-tune his art while accepting the feedback and smiles from the guests delighted with his magic.

The Chef`s quest for uncompromising quality led him to build Taj Bistro, his visioned restaurant, in the year 2014. The restaurant`s brigade only focuses on delighting the guest with a never-ending trail of Indian Feast with exceptional Services.
